- Identify community educational, social, and recreational needs through public data, partner relationships, and local feedback.
- Design bilingual, inclusive educational chess programs in collaboration with schools, libraries, museums, community organizations, and local businesses.
- Expanded programming from zero to seven locations, serving 800+ members across rural Arizona and Sonora, Mexico, with more than half of members from ethnic minority communities and more than 40% girls and women.
- Developed Chess in Schools, high school internship, tournament-preparation, Safe Play, and Binational Chess Championship initiatives.
- Lead outcome tracking and reporting for the Board of Directors, funders, and community partners.
- Oversee recruitment, training, performance support, and volunteer management for a 15-person team, including 13 volunteers.
- Serve as chief executive officer and advise the Board of Directors on policy, compliance, organizational growth, and community strategy.
- Lead budget planning, grant seeking, fundraising campaigns, donor relations, and partnerships.
